Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Sheesh app collects, why, who helps us run it, and how to delete your account. Sheesh Shawarma & Cafe is at 1717 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97201 ("Sheesh", "we", "us").
What we collect
Your account
- Phone number: to create your account and sign you in with a one-time text code.
- Name: so we can put it on your order.
- Email address (optional): only if you add it. If you also choose to get our emails, we record that choice and when you made it.
Orders
- What you order (items and options), which side you order from (Shawarma or Cafe), your pickup time, and the amounts: subtotal, Sheesh Cash used and earned, and total.
Payments
- Payments are processed by Square. Card details you enter, and Apple Pay, go directly to Square. We never see or store your full card number.
- If you save a card, Square stores it. We keep only a Square customer ID so we can show your saved cards (brand, last 4 digits, expiry) and charge the one you choose.
Sheesh Cash and in-store scans
- Your Sheesh Cash balance and history: what you earned and what you used.
- When staff scan your Sheesh code at the counter, we record your account, the location, and the time. We then match it to that register's next payment to credit your cash back from the amount you paid.
Catering and food truck requests
- The name, email, phone number and event details you send us, so we can reply with a quote.
App usage and crash reports
- A few in-app actions, for example opening the delivery options or choosing a delivery partner. These help us decide what to build next, and they're linked to your account if you're signed in.
- If the app crashes, a crash report: device model, operating system and app version, and technical details of the error. Crash reports don't include your name, phone number or email.
What we don't collect
- We don't collect your location, contacts or photos.
- We don't use advertising identifiers, track you across other apps or websites, or show ads.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To take, prepare and charge for your orders, and show your order history and receipts.
- To track, credit and redeem Sheesh Cash.
- To respond to catering and support requests.
- To send you emails about Sheesh, only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
Who helps us run the app
We share information only with the service providers that run the app for us, and only what each one needs:
- Square: payments, saved cards, and sending orders to our registers.
- Supabase: accounts and our database.
- Twilio: sending sign-in codes by text message.
- Vercel: hosting our servers and these pages.
- Sentry: crash reports.
- Resend: delivering catering requests to our inbox.
Delivery is through DoorDash and Grubhub. Tapping one of them leaves our app, and their own privacy policies apply to what you share with them.
We don't sell your personal information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Text messages (SMS)
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive one-time verification codes via SMS. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or lead generators under any circumstances.
Deleting your account
In the Sheesh app: open the Account tab → tap Delete account (at the bottom) → type DELETE → confirm. Your account is deleted right away.
Without the app: email info@sheeshcafe.com from any address with the phone number on your account, and we'll delete it.
Deleting your account permanently deletes:
- your profile (name, phone number, email) and your sign-in;
- your Sheesh Cash balance and history, and any open in-store scan;
- your saved cards (your Square customer record is deleted);
- catering requests sent with your email or phone number.
We keep records of past orders for tax and accounting, with your name removed and no link to you. Square keeps payment records as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information until you delete your account. Anonymous order records and payment records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and only Sheesh and the services above can access it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
The app isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
